During a comprehensive eye exam, Dr. Ogawa measure your visual acuity and determine with whether you need glasses. She also evaluates the binocular vision status of your eyes which could be related to eye fatigue, eyestain or reading problems in children. Most importantly, she carefully evaluates the health of your eyes. She looks at each part of the eye from eyelids, cornea, iris, lens, vitreous to retina to determine eye and systemic health. Dilation may be necessary. Because we can directly see the blood vessels in a retinal exam, systemic diseases such as hypertension and diabetic changes can be seem in an eye exam.
